👋🏾 Hi, I’m Hayatu
I started as a designer — two years in graphic design, then a year in product design — before transitioning fully into software engineering. That path shapes everything about how I build. I think about the user before I think about the architecture, and I don't consider something done until both are right.
Six years in, I've worked across the full product lifecycle: building the frontends users touch, the backends that make them reliable, and the design systems that keep teams consistent. I've been part of founding teams, owned architecture decisions under ambiguity, and shipped things that had to work at scale.
Now I'm adding AI engineering to that. Through my apprenticeship at Andela, I'm learning to build agentic systems — multi-agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and tools that connect LLMs to real production data. I think the engineers who understand both the product layer and the AI layer are going to build the most interesting things in the next few years. That's where I'm headed.

- ● At Andela, I'm training as an AI Engineer — building multi-agent workflows, RAG systems, and MCP servers using LangGraph, CrewAI, and AutoGen to solve real-world problems with autonomous AI.
- ● At X-HR Labs, I joined as an engineer in the founding team and helped take an AI-native HR product from zero to MVP — owning architecture decisions, building the design system, and working across the stack in close collaboration with product and design.
